Informational sessions are virtual meetings for parents and students who want to learn more about ModernBrain’s classes, competition opportunities, schedules, and recommended pathways. They are intended for questions and program guidance, not student instruction or a sample class. When signing up, please note which program, class, or subject area you would like to discuss so we can prepare relevant information. If you want your student to actively participate and receive coaching, please book a Trial Class instead.

Trial classes are private, virtual sessions that give students a sample of ModernBrain’s curriculum and coaching. They are not drop-ins to an existing group class, which allows us to tailor the session to the student’s age, experience, and interests. When signing up, please indicate which class or subject area you would like to review, such as Speech, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, Mock Trial, or Model United Nations. Beginners do not need to prepare anything in advance.

Students who want to join a nationals team must articulate which team they want to join, why they want to join it, be available to participate in regular weekend contests (twice monthly on average), and demonstrate their skill level in their chosen category on the call. They may also be asked to submit performance videos.

After the call, they will either be accepted, rejected, or given a follow-up audition assignment. They will receive a free critical evaluation focused on improvement. You can see successful performances here.
